Panorama 1326 Bursa Conquest Museum explores the capture of Bursa by Orhan Gazi on 6 April 1326 and the early years of the Ottoman state. Its main attraction is a 360-degree panoramic painting covering the interior of a large dome. Three-dimensional objects in the foreground and ambient sounds add depth, placing visitors at the centre of an artistic reconstruction of the day. Alongside soldiers, the panorama depicts townspeople, animals and scenes of everyday life. The museum presents the city’s surrender and the meeting of Byzantine and Ottoman communities through a theme of peace. A separate chronological exhibition introduces the people and events associated with the Ottoman state’s beginnings. Visit the chronological exhibition before entering the panorama to give the scene more context. Once beneath the dome, take time to look around—from the distant city walls to the figures in the foreground. These details help bring Bursa’s past into view before you return to the modern city outside.
